Email us

support@scrolls.example

Tell us your macOS version and your Scrolls version (Settings › About), and what you were doing.

Report a problem from the app

Open the account menu or Settings › About and choose Report a problem. You can attach diagnostics, and See what’s included shows you exactly what would be sent before you send it. It never includes transcripts, notes, titles or names.

Common questions

My Mac says it can’t open Scrolls

Scrolls isn’t signed with an Apple developer certificate yet, so macOS blocks it the first time. Follow Opening Scrolls for the first time: try to open it, then use System Settings › Privacy & Security › Open Anyway. If you don’t see Open Anyway, try opening Scrolls again first.

Scrolls can’t hear anything, or asks for the microphone again

Open System Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone and make sure Scrolls is switched on. After you install a newer version, macOS may ask for microphone permission again, because each version is a different build to your Mac. That is expected. Also check that the right input is selected in System Settings › Sound › Input.

I can’t sign in

Scrolls signs in with Google in your browser. Finish the sign-in there and return to Scrolls. If the browser opens but Scrolls stays signed out, quit Scrolls, open it again and retry. If it still fails, email us the time you tried.

My session has a transcript but no notes

Notes are written after you stop, and they need an internet connection. Check your connection and open the session again. If the notes are still missing, use Report a problem so we can look at it.

How do I delete my data?

To delete a single session, delete it in the app. You can also set how long Scrolls keeps sessions in Settings. To delete your whole account and everything stored in it, email support@scrolls.example from the address you signed in with. The audio recording is kept only on your Mac, not by us.

Check first. Many courses and bootcamps have their own rules, and some need the speaker’s permission. Recording laws differ by country and state, and some require everyone’s consent. You are responsible for following the rules where you are. This is general information, not legal advice.

How do I update Scrolls?

Download the newest version from the Download page and replace the old one in Applications. Scrolls does not install updates by itself.

I hit a usage limit

During the beta there are daily limits on how much AI work one account can ask for, so that no single account runs up a large bill. They reset daily. If you reached one in normal use, tell us; it helps us set them sensibly.
